Hi

We have +500 different security groups and more to come. Some groups require approval to join, others not.
All groups, that can be selected by end users and user manages, is placed in a specific string in the AD.
Eg. \\testdomain.local\CustomerGroups

To ease end-users and user-manages using Adaxes, I need to categorize these groups and present them nicely on the WebUI.

How do I do that ?

- Thanks in advance

Hello,

You have several options how you can do that. First off, the Active Directory Pane available on the home page of Adaxes Web Interface can be configured to display not only the managed AD domains, but also specific AD objects. Since the groups are placed in specific locations (Organizational Units), you can configure the Active Directory Pane to show the necessary OUs right on the home page. For information on how to configure the pane, see the following tutorial: http://www.adaxes.com/tutorials_WebInte ... ryPane.htm.

Also, you can organize the groups in virtual collections of objects called Business Units. Adaxes Business Units allow you to organize AD objects in collections without altering the AD structure. For information on how to create Business Units, see the following tutorial: http://www.adaxes.com/tutorials_ActiveD ... tively.htm. At the end of the tutorial, you will find information on how to display Business Units in the Web interface.

Finally, if the list of groups available to users can change from user to user, you can build Business Units, the groups in which depend on the logged in user. For information on how to do this, see the following tutorial: http://www.adaxes.com/tutorials_ActiveD ... InUser.htm.
