Softerra Adaxes 2009.1 Gives a Warning During Installation on Windows 2008 R2

Postby Support » Tue Oct 27, 2009 3:50 pm

SYMPTOMS
When you install Softerra Adaxes 2009.1 on Windows 2008 R2, you may receive the following warning message:

"Warnings occurred while installing the ADAM instance:
AD LDS Setup skipped LDIF file importation because the account provided could not be used. Either the credentials were not valid, or the account did not have administrative permissions for AD LDS. To import LDIF files later, use the Ldifd.exe tool in the AD LDS folder."

CAUSE
During the installation of AD LDS instances on Windows 2008 R2, the AD LDS Setup tries to import LDIF file MS-ADAM-Upgrade-2.ldf with AD LDS schema upgrade. This LDIF file is not imported, because credentials for importing LDIF files cannot be specified during unattended installation of AD LDS instances.

Features introduced by this schema upgrade are not used by the Adaxes service, so this warning can be safely ignored.

WORKAROUND
This warning can be safely ignored as it does not affect the Adaxes service functioning.

STATUS
This issue will be fixed in the next version of Softerra Adaxes.
