Creating Organizational Unit

To create a new organizational unit:

Using Adaxes Administration Console

  1. Launch the Adaxes Administration Console.

  2. In the Console Tree, expand the service node, in which you want to create a new organizational unit (the icon represents service nodes).

  3. Expand Active Directory / <domain>.

  4. Select the domain or organizational unit, under which you want to create a new organizational unit.

  5. Right-click the selected node, point to New, and click Organizational Unit.

    -or-

    Click New Organizational Unit on the toolbar.

  6. In the Organizational Unit Name field, type the name of the new organizational unit.

  7. Specify optional property values.

  8. Click Finish.

The fields in bold are required according to the AD schema or Property Patterns.

Using Adaxes Web Interface

  1. Log in to the Adaxes Web Interface.

  2. Click the Browsing tab in the top navigation menu.

  3. Click the domain in which you want to create an organizational unit, and then select the location for the new organizational unit.

    -or-

    Click Browse above the list of managed domains and select the location for the new organizational unit.

  4. Click the Organizational Unit link below the top navigation menu.

    [Tip]Tip
    If this link is not displayed, you do not have necessary permissions to create organizational units in this location or it is not allowed by the Active Directory schema.
  5. At the Create New Organizational Unit page that opens, type the name of the new organizational unit in the Organizational Unit Name field.

  6. Specify optional property values.

  7. To enter additional information, click Specify more information.

  8. Click Save.
