Creating User

To create a new user account:

Using Adaxes Administration Console

  1. Launch the Adaxes Administration Console.

  2. In the Console Tree, expand the service node, in which you want to create a new user (the icon represents service nodes).

  3. Expand Active Directory / <domain>.

  4. Select the node, under which you want to create a user.

  5. Right-click the selected node, point to New, and click User.

    -or-

    Click New User on the toolbar.

  6. In the First Name field, type the new user's first name.

  7. In the Last Name field, type the new user's last name.

    By default, the Full Name, the User Logon Name and the User Logon Name (pre-Windows 2000) values are generated automatically by a built-in Property Pattern, but you can modify the generated value the way you need.

  8. Specify optional values.

  9. Click Finish or click Next to enter additional information.

The fields in bold are required according to the AD schema or Property Patterns.

For interoperability with other systems, you can create a new inetOrgPerson. To do so, in the New list, click InetOrgPerson instead of User.

Using Adaxes Web Interface

  1. Log in to the Adaxes Web Interface.

  2. Click the Browsing tab in the top navigational menu.

  3. Click the domain in which you want to create a user, and then select the location for the new user.

    -or-

    Click Browse above the list of managed domains and select the location for the new user.

  4. Click the User link below the top navigational menu.

    If this link is not displayed, you do not have necessary permissions to create user objects in this location or it is not allowed by the Active Directory schema.
  5. At the Create New User page that opens, type the new user's first and last names in the First Name and Last Name fields.

  6. Specify optional values.

  7. To enter additional information, click Specify more information.

  8. Click Save.
