Searching for Groups by Their Type or Scope

To search for groups with a specific type or scope:

Using Adaxes Administration Console

  1. Launch the Adaxes Administration Console.

  2. In the Console Tree, expand the Adaxes service that manages AD domains where you want to search (the icon represents service nodes).

  3. Select Active Directory to search in all managed domains. To search in a specific domain or container, select it in the Console Tree.

  4. Click Find on the toolbar.

  5. To change a location to search in, use the Look in combo-box. In this way you can select a domain or a location where you have already searched. To a select another location, click Browse and select the object you need.

  6. Select the Simple Search tab.

  7. Click the Type drop-down list and select Group.

  8. Unselect the group types and scopes you don't want to be included in the search results. If necessary, specify other search criteria.

  9. Click Find Now.

    To stop the search in progress, click the Stop button. To clear the dialog for a new search, click the Clear all button.

[Note]Note
To perform operations on the objects in the search results, for example, to move objects or add them to the Basket, select the objects on which you want to perform an operation, right-click, and select the operation you need from the context menu.

Using Adaxes Web Interface
  1. Log in to the Adaxes Web Interface.

  2. Click the Search tab in the top navigation menu.

  3. Make sure the Simple link is selected in the top navigation submenu.

  4. To search in a specific location, in the Search In drop-down list, select a domain or click the Browse button to select a container to search in. By default, the search is performed in all Managed Domains.

  5. Below the search panel, check Groups and uncheck other object types.

  6. In the left drop-down list, select Group Type.

  7. In the right field, click the embedded Edit button.

  8. Check group types to be included in the search results.

    If no type is selected, the search results will include groups of all types.
  9. Check group scopes to be included in the search results.

    If no scope is selected, the search results will include groups with all scopes.
  10. Click OK.

    Click the Add Criteria link, to add additional search criteria. The search results will contain the groups that correspond to all search criteria.
  11. Click the Search button.
