Deleting Email Addresses

Using Softerra Adaxes, you can delete external e-mail addresses for mail-enabled users, contacts, and groups.

To delete e-mail addresses you need to have the 'Write Exchange Attributes' permission. This permission is granted by the built-in 'Exchange Recipient Manager' Security Role.

To delete e-mail addresses for Active Directory users, contacts, and groups:

Using Adaxes Administration Console

  1. Launch the Adaxes Administration Console.

  2. In the Console Tree, expand your service node (the icon represents service nodes).

  3. Expand Active Directory / <domain>.

  4. Select users, contacts, and groups, for which you want to delete e-mail addresses, right-click, point to Exchange Tasks, and click Delete E-mail Address.

    [Tip]Tip
    If the Exchange Tasks submenu is not available, it means that Microsoft Exchange is not installed in the AD domain, where the selected objects are located.
    [Tip]Tip
    This command is available for mail-enabled objects only. For multiple selections this command is always available, however, e-mail addresses will be deleted for objects with established e-mail address only.
  5. In the Delete E-mail Address dialog that opens, click OK.

  6. The results of the e-mail address deletion will be displayed. Click Close.

Using Adaxes Web Interface

  1. Log in to the Adaxes Web Interface.

  2. Click the Browsing tab in the top navigational menu.

  3. Click the domain that contains users, contacts, and groups, for which you want to delete e-mail addresses, and then select their location.

    -or-

    Click Browse above the list of managed domains and select the container in which the objects you need are located.

  4. In the list of AD objects, check the objects you need, click Exchange Tasks in the On Selection menu and select the Delete E-mail Address command.

  5. Click OK.
