Managing Approval Requests

Using Adaxes Administration Console

To start managing approval requests, in the Console Tree, expand the service node, in which you want to process Approval Requests and select the Approval Requests node.

To approve or deny approval requests:

  1. In the Results Pane, click the arrow inside the Show field and select My approvals.

    Service administrators can approve or deny any request using the All requests item.
  2. Click the arrow inside the Status field and select Pending.

  3. Click the Apply Filter button.

  4. Check the requests you want to approve or deny and click Approve or Deny button below the operations list.

    If you deny a request, you can specify the reason for denial in the edit box next to the Deny button. This reason will be shown to the requestor.

To cancel the requests you initiated:

  1. In the Result Pane, click the arrow inside the Show field and select My requests.

  2. Click the arrow inside the Status field and select Pending.

  3. Click the Apply Filter button.

  4. Check the requests you want to cancel and click the Cancel button below the operations list.

To delete processed requests:

  1. In the Results Pane, click the arrow inside the Show field and select My requests or My approvals.

    Service administrators can delete any request using the All requests item.
  2. Click the arrow inside the Status field and select Approved, Denied or Canceled.

  3. Click the Apply Filter button.

  4. Select the requests you want to delete, right-click, and click Delete in the context menu.

To add or delete request approvers:

  1. In the Results Pane, click the arrow inside the Show field and select My requests or My approvals.

    You must have sufficient permissions to add or delete approvers for requests.
  2. Click the arrow inside the Status field and select Pending.

  3. Click the Apply Filter button.

  4. Right-click the request you need and select Properties.

  5. To add approvers, click Add... below the list of approvers, select the approvers you want to add and click OK two times.

  6. To delete an approver, right-click it and select Delete in the context menu.

You can also locate the user who initiated a request, the user who processed a request, or the request target object in the Console Tree. To do so, right-click the request you need, point to Locate in Tree, and click Request Initiator, Processed by or Operation Target Object.

Use the Columns drop-down menu above the list of operations to show/hide columns in this list.

Using Adaxes Web Interface

To approve or deny approval requests:

  1. Log in to the Adaxes Web Interface.

  2. Click My Approvals in the My Panel menu.

  3. Select Pending in the drop-down list above the list of approval requests.

  4. Check the requests you want to approve or deny and click Approve or Deny button below the list of requests for approval.

    If you deny a request, you can specify the reason for denial in the edit box next to the Deny button. This reason will be shown to the requestor.

To cancel the requests you initiated:

  1. Log in to the Adaxes Web Interface.

  2. Click My Requests in My Panel menu.

  3. Select Pending in the drop-down list above the list of approval requests.

  4. Check the requests you want to cancel and click Cancel below the list of requests.

To view processed requests:

  1. Log in to the Adaxes Web Interface.

  2. To view your requests that were approved, denied or cancelled:

    • Click My Requests in the My Panel menu.

    • Select Approved, Denied or Cancelled in the drop-down list above the list of approval requests.

  3. To view the requests you approved or denied:

    • Click My Approvals in the My Panel menu.

    • Select Approved or Denied in the drop-down list above the list of approval requests.

To display additional information on requests, click above the list of approval requests.
