Hi

We have a set of business rules which are used for creating new distribution lists, these rules all have the same activity scope of a number of OUs, but the number of OUs expands on a frequent basis. I was hoping to use a Business Unit which includes all of the Distribution OUs (all these OUs names end with Distribution) but the rules are applied to groups and the Business Unit is looking for OUs.

I don't believe that this is yet possible, but is it on your roadmap to allow Business Units with OUs to be used in activity scopes for other objects? It would be really useful to ensure that when a new OU is created, it's not missed from the activity scope.

Thanks

Matt

Hello Matt,

It is already possible to use business units in scopes of business rules. However, that will not work for the rules triggering upon object creation. Also, the business unit must contain the type of objects the business rule is configured for (e. g. group). In your case, each OU can be specified as search base for the coresponding Query results membership rule in your business unit. image.png
