Select the AD Object Types to be Displayed in the UI

By default, Adaxes Active Directory Web Interface displays Active Directory objects of commonly used types, such as Users, Computers, Groups, Contacts, and Organizational Units. However, you may want users not to be able to see Active Directory objects of certain types, when they use the Web Interface. Or, you may want the Web Interface to display Active Directory objects of a custom type in addition to the standard object types.

In this tutorial, you will learn how to specify the types of Active Directory objects to be displayed when users browse the directory and define, which object types are displayed in the Browse drop-down box.

On the computer, where the Web Interface is installed, start the Web Interface Customization tool.

In the Interface type drop-down list, select the Web Interface you want to configure.

Activate the AD Browsing tab and click Configure Object Types.

To specify which types of Active Directory objects must be displayed during Active Directory browsing, check the object types you need in the list located in the AD Object Grid group box.

Select the Show all object types option to view all object types defined in the Active Directory schema.

To select the object types to be displayed in the Browse drop-down dialog located on the Navigation Bar, check the object types you need in the list located in the Browse Dialog group box.

Select the Show all object types option to view all object types defined in the Active Directory schema.

When finished, click Apply.
There is no need to restart IIS to apply the changes, as the changes are applied automatically.
