Hello,

Is there a way to add a note field on the create user form for additional information. This info would not go into Active Directory but just in the notification email to IT when a user is created by HR.

HR would use this field to say information like where the user would sit, when they will arrive , etc instead of sending a separate email to IT with additional information.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Yes, that's possible. Information on the Create User form is organized in sections. Each section can have a description that describes what it is used for. You can put the information in the description. Section descriptions support HTML tags.

To add a description to a section:

  1. Launch the Web Interface Customization tool.
  2. Select the necessary Web Interface in the Interface type drop-down list.
  3. Activate the AD Management tab.
  4. Click Customize Forms and Views. This will bring up the Forms and Views dialog.
  5. Select User.
  6. Activate the Create tab.
  7. Select a section and click Edit.
  8. Specify the necessary information in the Section description field.
  9. Click OK, then click Apply.

Thanks for the response but I think there is a misunderstanding.

I need a notes field for the person to enter information for IT. Like a text box when creating a user, for example on the form it would have a blank text box for HR to use to pass on information to IT when we approve the request. Example " IT, John Doe will sit in the accounting Dept. he will also need a computer, etc"

Hello,

For this purpose, you can add a field for any text property to the form. For example, you can use one of the 30 virtual properties for text values provided by Adaxes. Such properties are not stored in AD, but can be used the same as any other properties of AD objects. The names of such properties start with CustomAttributeText (e.g. CustomAttributeText1).

For information on how to add a property to the Create User form, see step 6 in the following tutorial: http://www.adaxes.com/tutorials_WebInte ... diting.htm.

Also, you can configure Adaxes to display the property under your own name. For details, see Customizing Display Names for AD Properties.

Thank you.
I was able to add the field on the new user form but am I able to change the label on the filed name to something like "User Note"?
