Hello Forum,

is it possible to change the Password Self Service to enter the email adress instead of entering the username?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Hello,

Yes, it is possible. For this purpose, you need to allow using email address as username in the Web Interface. Pay attention that if you allow that, users will also be able to log on to the Web Interface using their email address.

To allow using email address as username:

  1. On the computer, where the Web Interface is installed, start the Web Interface Customization tool.
  2. In the Interface type drop-down list, select the Web Interface that you want to configure.
  3. Activate the Sign In tab.
  4. Click Configure Username Options.
  5. In the Property for Username section, click Add.
  6. Select Email and click OK two times.
  7. When finished, click Apply.

Hi Support,

thanks for your answer. We're managing "external" Users on that Adaxes instance. If i type in the emailaddress (external) of a user i get the error:

Domain is not managed by the service (no logon information provided).

Is there any other way to do that?

Thanks & cheers

Hello,

What exactly do you mean by "external" users? Could you provide more details?

The mail attribute pulls from their Active Directory email attribute which for most of our users is their internal email address. They would not be able to ... ourselves and the users could just provide their external email address during portal enrollment.
