When an approver approves or denies an approval request, they are prompted for a reason, but this field can be left blank. Is there a way to make this field required?

Unfortunately, there is currently no possibility to make the field required. However, thank you for the suggestion. We forwarded it to the corresponding department for consideration.

Got it. Thanks for your quick help!
