We are in the process of updating our Active Directory Domain Controllers to server 2022 and the Domain/Forest function level. Our concern is that we still have Adaxes version 2014.1 running on Server 2012 R2 and some custom applicaitons that use the API to do AD lookups through the Adaxes servers. Does Adaxes version 2014.1 support the newer version of Windows server for our DCs and the Domain/Forest function level of 2016?

Hello,

We did perform basic tests for the compatibility and it worked fine at the time when the server edition was released. At the same time there were a lot of updates released for it and we never tested Adaxes 2014.1 with all of them. As such, there can be issues with such a setup. We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of Adaxes.

We originally installed Adaxes and assigned the Adaxes Service user to the Domain Admins group. We are now locking down that group and have removed the Adaxes Serivce from ... to do things. What rights does Adaxes Service need in order to administer users?
