Hi, is there a way to make indirect reporting work for user management ? In AD, User A manages user B, User B manages user C. I'd like to make Users managed by B manageable by user A.

Hello,

What exactly do you mean by manageable here? Please, describe the desired behavior in all the possible details with live examples.

There you go, hope I made it clear(ish?) :

UserA : Head of department UserB : Team manager UserC : Team member

UserC reports to UserB UserB reports to UserA

In AD : UserC manager's is set to UserB UserB manager's is set to UserA

I want to allow managers to be able to reset their team members passwords or unlock accounts, this works fine when it's a direct report (UserB sees UserC, UserA sees UserB).

What I would like to do is for UserA to also be able to see UserC in their team or elsewhere in the interface so they can do password resets/unlocks in case UserB is unavailable.

Hello,

Thank you for clarifying. Unfortunately, there is no such possibility. However, thank you for the suggestion. We forwarded it to the corresponding department for consideration.

As a workaround, you can use a dynamic business unit with the membership rule like below in the assigned scope of your security role. For details on creating dynamic business units, have a look at the following tutorial: https://www.adaxes.com/help/CreateDynamicBusinessUnit. image.png

In the web interface, is there a way to default the show indirect membership box by default? Currently it has to be selected manually. It would be great if this was an option on the field similar to allow add/remove. Thanks

I'm adding members to groups through a custom web portal but they don't show up in the "Members" property of the group unless I select "Show Indirect Members". ... have verified direct member/membership through the objects in AD. How can I rectify this issue?
