Hey All. I know ADaxes is like the best thing since sliced bread for many users here so I'm hoping you can assist with a question. I am currently trialing out the software in hopes that I can get it approved for next years budget. I am working on getting as much automated as I can to prove worth.

A simple task that I'm working on is User Creation. By default when you create a new user, step one is selecting the ou within the form for the user to be created in. I would like to skip this step by default and have a Business Rule move the user to the correct OU based on the 'Office' Property that is selected from a list. Is this possible? I created a ticket with Support earlier today, but they haven't gotten back to me(not complaining since i'm on a trial)

Also has anyone utilized a script to setup an AS400 from within ADaxes as well and have any tips in how to do so? I'm hoping I can get this automated as well. Basically our AS400 just needs a user id input, ad username input, and the employee id so that it can create the user. We then have a application that we configure more permissions on that talks to the AS400. Luckily my manager was an AS400 programmer back in the day so if we can get some sample script, we can hopefully convert it to work for us

Hello,

I would like to skip this step by default and have a Business Rule move the user to the correct OU based on the 'Office' Property that is selected from a list. Is this possible?

Yes, it is possible. To skip the destination container selection, you need to specify the default container in the settings of the Web Interface action used for creating new accounts. For details, see https://www.adaxes.com/tutorials_WebInt ... -selection. You will need to enable option Select the following container by default, specify the destination container and then select Always use this container.

For information on how to automate moving users to specific containers, have a look at the following tutorial: https://www.adaxes.com/tutorials_Automa ... lUnits.htm.

I created a ticket with Support earlier today, but they haven't gotten back to me(not complaining since i'm on a trial)

Could you, please, provide us with the ticket number and the email address that was used to submit the request?

Also has anyone utilized a script to setup an AS400 from within ADaxes as well and have any tips in how to do so?

As per our check, AS400 has an API which allows you to send requests to it from Adaxes using PowerShell scripts. You can check the software documentation here: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgece ... elcome.htm. Also, the following script from our repository should be helpful: https://www.adaxes.com/script-repositor ... 0-s414.htm.

You do not need to create a trust between AD domains to manage them with an Adaxes service. When registering an AD domain, an account with administrative permissions ... control the user access to the managed resources, the Adaxes service uses Security Roles.

We have a customized the help desk security role to allow only resetting passwords and unlocking accounts. We don't want them to be able to enable accounts that are disabled ... writing to certain "account options"? It seems that its an all or nothing setting.
