Can users just unlock their accounts from the self-service page, or is it reset passwords only? I know the help desk site allows users to unlock for other users, but I was hoping that we could unlock from the self-service page.

I'm working on getting it set up on the trial (we're going to be getting it licensed) and just noticed that I didn't see this.

Hello,

Yes, this is possible. When defining a Password Self-Service Policy for the users, make sure that the Unlock account during password reset option is enabled for the policy. To check this:

  1. Open Adaxes Administration Console.
  2. In the Console Tree, expand the service node that represents your Adaxes service.
  3. Expand Configuration / Password Self-Service and click Policies.
  4. In the list of policies on the right, select the policy you need.
  5. Switch to the Blocking and Unlocking tab.
  6. Make sure that the Unlock account during password reset option is enabled.

When the option is enabled for the Password Self-Service Policy applied to a user and the user wants to unlock his user account, he needs to click the Forgot your password? link on the Sign In page. After passing the verification stage, the user will be suggested either to unlock account only or to unlock account and reset password:

Thank you - that makes sense.

I was looking for a link right on the main page, but if the Forgot Password link works, then great.

Is there a way to edit the link name so I could change it to something like "Forgot Password or Need to unlock your account?"

Hello,

The text of this link is not configurable via the standard Web Interface configuration, but you can modify the Web Interface source files. However, keep in mind that if you change any of Adxes Web Interface source files, these files will not be backed up by the Web Interface backup/restore, and you will have to manually copy these files manually each time you upgrade Adaxes.

To edit the text of the link:

  1. On the computer where your Web Interface is installed, open the folder that contains the Adaxes Web Interface site that you want to configure. By default, Adaxes Web Interface sites are installed to the following folders:

    • Administrators:
      C:\Program Files\Softerra\Adaxes 3\Web Interface\Admin\
    • Help Desk:
      C:\Program Files\Softerra\Adaxes 3\Web Interface\HelpDesk\
    • Self-Service:
      C:\Program Files\Softerra\Adaxes 3\Web Interface\SelfService\
  2. Open the folder named App_GlobalResources.

  3. Find the SignIn.aspx.resx file.

  4. Find the following line:
    <value>Forgot your password?</value>

  5. Change Forgot your password? to the text that you want.

  6. Save the file.

  7. Repeat the same for the rest of the Web Interface sites, if necessary.

I don't see a Signin.aspx.resx in App_GlobalResources, but in App_LocalResources.

Hello,

Yes, sorry, it was my mistake. It should be in App_LocalResources.

Okay - everything else matched up, just the location, so I wanted to make sure.

Thanks. I'm sure I'll come back for more - just starting in on getting this going.

Sure. You are always welcome.

Hi,

We want to change "english words to turkish words" in SiignIn.aspx.resx file. I tried but i get an error. I use some extended character for Turkish like ĞÜŞÖÇİ.

When i put extended character i get an error.

is there any solution for this issue

Thanks

Hello Erkan,

You are probably editing the file in a certain encoding that is not UTF-8. The SignIn.aspx.resx file is an XML-formatted file in the UTF-8 encoding that supports national characters. You need to force your text editor to edit the file as a UTF-8 file.
