Hello again,

I am planning the upgrade to 2013.2, but I would like to do it to a new server. The documentation is about using the same server (http://www.adaxes.com/resources/InstNot ... ade_single)

Are there any additional steps required if the machine is restaged in between? I am also concerned about the logs; I plan to store them to SQL (thanks to the new feature) but I would like to have the current one migrated (SQL Settings).

Thank you very much in advance

Hello,

No additional steps are required. You simply need to do the following

  1. Perform steps 1-3 of the article on the old server
  2. Move the backup files to the new server.
  3. Perform steps 4-6 on the new server.

As for the log records, they will be migrated automatically. Since the logging database is included in backup files for Adaxes service, when you restore Adaxes configuration on the new service, the logging database will also be restored. As soon as you enable storing of log records in an external MS SQL database, the log records will be automatically copied from your local database to the MS SQL database. Pay attention that it'll take Adaxes some time to copy the log records, depending on the size of your logging database.
