We are looking at separating our adaxes roles into application/service console and web servers. We already have separate web servers in order to separate our admin console and self service console that is accessible externally but we are lookin at further separating these so that we have 3 separate clusters. 1 for Adaxes Service, 1 for Admin Web Interface, and 1 for Self Service Web Interface.

When separating these, Should the SPML Web Service go on the Admin Web Servers or stay with the Adaxes Service?

Hello Mark,

we are lookin at further separating these so that we have 3 separate clusters. 1 for Adaxes Service, 1 for Admin Web Interface, and 1 for Self Service Web Interface.

When you install an instance of Adaxes Web Interface, all the Web Interfaces become available from host. If you want to make specific Web Interfaces available only from specific computers, you will need to restrict access to it on other ones. For details, see https://www.adaxes.com/tutorials_WebInterfaceCustomization_DisableWebInterfaceOnWebServers.htm

When separating these, Should the SPML Web Service go on the Admin Web Servers or stay with the Adaxes Service?

You can keep Adaxes SPML Provider on the server which suits your needs best. Also, you can install it on a separate server if you like.

I am trying to see if I can implement this in Adaxes somehow to support role-based provisioning to external apps (using appropriate Powershell scripts) but struggling to work ... to invest in a full-blown role-based provisioning platform (would rather not!).

We are in the process of upgrading from Adaxes 2014.1 to Adaxes 2018.2. In our current architecture we have the web interfaces deployed to their own websites in IIS. ... like to set distinct URLs for each web interface. Thanks in advance for any assistance.
