Dear Support, hope you are well during this pandemic!

Can you please if it's possible to use different urls for different interfaces and how it can be set up? E.g. I have 2 interfaces Team1 and Team2 on my server server-adaxes.com, I've created CNAME entries in DNS to point to same ip and I want to use:

  • adaxes-L1. com for Team1 interface

  • adaxes-L2. com for Team2 interface

Thanks for help!

Hello Dmytro,

Unfortunately, there is no possibility to configure such redirection via DNS settings.

Specific Web Interfaces can be accessed directly using URLs like the following: http://host.company.com/Adaxes/HelpDesk. In your case, the URLs should be http://server-adaxes.com/Adaxes/Team1 for Team1 and http://server-adaxes.com/Adaxes/Team2 for Team2. If necessary, the Adaxes part can be removed from Web Interface URLs. For details, see https://www.adaxes.com/questions/8940/can-i-remove-the-adaxes-part-from-web-interface-urls. In the URLs, the actual names (NOT display names) of the Web Interfaces must be used. To check the name of a Web Interface:

  1. Open Adaxes Web Interface Configurator.
  2. Expand the drop-down menu in the top left corner and click Manage Configurations. image.png
  3. Select the Web Interface whose name you need to check and click Rename. image.png
  4. The name will be displayed in the New name field. image.png

And if I have 2 adaxes servers can they have different URLs like mentioned?

Dmytro,

Yes, Web Interfaces on different servers can be accessed using different URLs. To make accessible only specific Web Interfaces on a web server, you need to disable the rest of Web Interfaces on the server. For information on how to disable a Web Interface on specific web servers, please, have a look at the following tutorial: https://www.adaxes.com/tutorials_WebInterfaceCustomization_DisableWebInterfaceOnWebServers.htm.

Hello, I followed you recomendations and left only 1 interface on the server, but I still cannot access it over separate URL - HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found. I've tried https://url/Team2, https://url/Adaxes/Team2, same error :(

Hello Dmytro,

The error is not caused by Adaxes settings. It is returned by IIS. For troubleshooting purposes, please, do the following on each server where your Adaxes Web Interface does not work:

  1. Launch Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
  2. In the Connections pane, expand the server that hosts Adaxes Web Interface and then expand Sites.
  3. Expand the web site that hosts Adaxes Web Interface.
  4. Right-click the Adaxes virtual directory.
  5. In the context menu, navigate to Manage Application and click Browse. image.png
  6. Does the page load successfully? If you get a different error message, please, post it here or send to our Support Team (support[at]adaxes.com).
