I have a specific computer property pattern for three different types of computers, which live in three different OUs and are in three different business units. I will have a specific security role that is allowed to create computer objects in those business unit OUs, but when they go through the form, only the builtin Computer property pattern is honored. Disabling that assignment sets no property pattern at all. How do I enforce a property pattern for a specific business unit at creation time?

Hello,

To apply a property pattern to an object during its creation, the pattern must be assigned over the container, Organizational Unit, or domain where the object is being created.

This is the only way a property pattern can be applied to objects that do not exist yet. An object becomes a member of any applicable business units only after creation. If you want to assign a property pattern over a business unit and have it applied during computer creation, the Organizational Unit where you are creating computers must be a business unit member.

Additionally, please, note that if more than one property pattern is assigned over the location where an object is being created, and the patterns contain conflicting options for a property, none of the patterns will be applied to the property. To check what property patterns are effective for an object:

  1. Launch Adaxes Administration console.
  2. In the Console Tree, expand your service node.
  3. Navigate to and right-click the object whose effective property patterns you need to view.
  4. In the context menu, click Properties. image.png
  5. Activate the Effective Objects tab.
  6. Click the Property Patterns button. image.png

We are replacing our Namescape rDirectory product with Adaxes because of the very flexible automation components. I've been able to replicate some of the pages previously ... vast majority of our users, that would function as the default company directory.

Hi, I'm trying to create a web console only for sending SMS using adaxes 2018.2. The SMS-users that are going to use the console should only be able to view users, not edit ... which removes a lot of OUs that the users should not see or be able to browse to.
