Hello,

We have an ADFS connected tenant in Office 365 with most users having on premise mailboxes, but some moving to Office365 mailboxes. We also use SharePoint online.

Due to a bug where if you assign an Office365 E3 license to a user, but they don't use an online mailbox, only an on premise one, they sometimes have problems logging into Office365 (they get an error page when redirected by default to OWA for their non-existant online mailbox) we always uncheck the Exchange Online sub license of their E3.

How can our team view / assign / revoke sub licenses in Office365?

Thanks.

Hello,

Currently, it is impossible using Adaxes built-in functionality, however, you can do this with the help of a script. For example, it is possible to create a script that can be executed on a user and that would check whether a user has an Exchange mailbox and would assign the Exchange Online plan only to users who do not have a mailbox.

Then, you can, for example, create a Custom Command that can be executed on users that will activate Office 365 accounts for users using the script. Thus, whenever you need to activate an Office 365 account for a user, you'll need to execute the Custom Command on the user's account, and the script used in the Custom Command will automatically assign the Exchange Online plan based on whether the target user has a mailbox.

If this solution is OK with you, we'll provide you with the necessary script.

This is what we need to do. I also need to be able to view which sub licenses are currently assigned when browsing user information.

I was thinking of running a schedule script of some sort that would collect this data and populate some custom fields.

Hello,

OK, we'll update the topic as soon as such a script is ready.

This can also be done. It is possible to create a script that will populate the list of assigned sub-licenses to one of Adaxed multi-valued virtual attributes, say, CustomAttributeTextMultiValue1, and use the script in a Scheduled Task to update the property for all users on a scheduled basis. We'll update the topic with this script as well.

Hello,

Was there a followup?
I am also interested in more granular o365 licence management. We do not have multiple types of licenses we assign, so even if there is a way to modify what Adaxes asigns as a main license, that would help.

Yes,I'm interested in this as well.
