Hello,

Do we understand correctly that you want to change the account of the default service administrator? If that is correct, you need to re-install Adaxes using the required account.

We don't know the password on the account we originally used to install. If we change it will we be able to get all of our Rules back?

Hello,

Yes.

will we just need to reconnect to the service?

I also can't take a backup of our existing config. Is that going to be a problem on the reinstall?

Hello,

Once you change the password for the default service administrator in Active Directory you need to enter the new password for Softerra Adaxes Service. To do so:

  1. Launch the Services panel from Control Panel/Administrative Tools.
  2. Right-click Softerra Adaxes Service and click Properties in the context menu.
  3. Activate the Log On tab and specify the new password for the default service administrator.
  4. Confirm the password and click OK.
  5. Restart Softerra Adaxes Service.

Once the service is running, you can proceed with backup and upgrade to version 2017.

I made that change but no luck. Support told me that it is an issue with the service not being able to read the mail settings due to old credentials. They had me modify the config file but the service is still not starting.

Is it possible to leave the "User must change password at next logon" checkbox unchecked by default? I see options to set the other properties but not this one.
