The website is accessible but when trying to login a user is faced with the following error

"LDAP server is unavailable."

On the administration console I'm getting "The directory service is unavailable. Firewall software may cause this problem.

No firewall is active on this server, No anti-virus is turned on, no known system changes since it last worked, I can ping the DC and run ADUC on this machine without an issue. No other services on this machine that use the ldap have been affected. I do have a event ID from the day i believe it stopped working from the app log reading,

"Faulting application Softerra.Adaxes.Service.exe, version 3.3.8123.0, time stamp 0x4f956c1a, faulting module KERNEL32.dll, version 6.0.6002.18449, time stamp 0x4da47967, exception code 0xe053534f, fault offset 0x0003fc56, process id 0x%9, application start time 0x%10"

Has anyone seen this or have any recommendations? I've restarted the adaxes backend service with no luck.

Hello,

On the administration console I'm getting "The directory service is unavailable. Firewall software may cause this problem.

It looks like your Adaxes service is not running.

  1. Open Control Panel -> Administrative Tools.
  2. Click Services.
  3. Right-click the Softerra Adaxes Service service.
  4. Click Start in the context menu.

Also, please have a look at the Adaxes Event Log. Are there any errors related to the issue.

Directory Service in unavailable.

Currently, it is not possible to manage Azure AD password policies via Adaxes. Cause Microsoft Graph API currently doesn't support password policy management. The issue is outlined here.

I am working with Adaxes for the first time. Looking to set up the service account so it can actually make changes to AD not just to register the Adaxes Service. I would rather ... the Adaxes service. What I am unable to do is have adaxes make changes to AD.

We are replacing our Namescape rDirectory product with Adaxes because of the very flexible automation components. I've been able to replicate some of the pages previously ... vast majority of our users, that would function as the default company directory.

We originally installed Adaxes and assigned the Adaxes Service user to the Domain Admins group. We are now locking down that group and have removed the Adaxes Serivce from ... to do things. What rights does Adaxes Service need in order to administer users?
